For this traffic signal project at an African port, we provided the signal lights, control system, solar panels, batteries and related equipment. The local team took responsibility for the civil works and on-site implementation. We provided technical guidance when the team encountered issues during installation and commissioning.
The system is now in operation, according to project feedback. The photographs in this article document construction, installation and testing; they are not photographs of final acceptance or long-term operation. The customer and exact location are kept anonymous.
01 / Who supplied and installed what?
Moving from equipment delivery to site operation requires coordination between the supplied components and the local installation conditions. Responsibilities on this project were divided as follows.
| Party | Role in this project |
|---|---|
| Our team | Supplied traffic signals, the control system, solar panels, batteries and related equipment; provided technical guidance when the site team encountered issues. |
| Local partner | Handled foundations, pole provision, installation and commissioning, and contacted us when equipment or configuration questions needed clarification. |
02 / Equipment delivery and trial assembly
The customer's project records show pole delivery, signal trial assembly and on-site wiring. The ground-level assembly photographs document how the signal equipment was fitted to the pole components as part of the installation process.
03 / Foundations and poles
The local partner was responsible for the foundations and poles. The site photographs show the foundation after pouring and the delivered pole components. Pole erection, equipment installation and wiring were then carried out by the local team.
These photographs are records of this project. Foundation, pole and installation designs for other projects must be assessed against their own site conditions.
04 / Local commissioning with technical guidance
The local team completed installation and commissioning. When issues arose during implementation, we provided technical guidance to support their work. The night-time photograph records the signals being illuminated during the testing stage.
Solar panels, batteries, signal heads and the control system need to work together according to the supplied configuration. For a new project, we first discuss the site conditions and equipment requirements, then confirm the relevant configuration and technical documentation.
The system is in operation
Status is based on project feedback. The available photographs show installation and testing stages.
